Robert M. Golub, MD

Robert M. Golub, MD, has participated in instruction from, and undergone training with, the manufacturer and technology company responsible for the instruments that make minimally invasive thyroid surgery possible.  He brought this video-assisted, endoscopic, thyroid capability to Aria and has successfully treated hundreds of patients with it, making him a pioneer in endocrine surgery in the Delaware Valley.  Dr. Golub has helped to refine the procedure at Aria, including implementing the use of surgical glue as the preferred method for closing incisions for thyroid surgery patients.

Dr. Golub, a board-certified surgeon specializing in surgical oncology, also brings to Aria Health's Department of Surgery a wealth and breadth of expertise in surgical treatment for a broad spectrum of cancers, including sarcoma, melanoma, hepato-biliary and pancreatic tumors, as well as thoracic and head-and-neck malignancies.  Prior to arriving at Aria Health, Dr. Golub worked at the University of Illinois at Chicago in the Department of Surgical Oncology as an Assistant Clinical Professor.

Dr. Golub's training includes a surgical internship at Mount Zion Hospital and Medical Center in San Francisco, and a surgical residency at The Medical College of Pennsylvania.  He later completed a two-year surgical oncology fellowship at the University of Illinois, Chicago.  Dr. Golub earned his undergraduate degree in biology from the University of California at Santa Cruz and received a medical degree from the Sackler School of Medicine at the University of Tel Aviv (Tel Aviv, Israel).  He is a member of several national organizations including the American College of Surgeons, the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, the American Cancer Society, the Society of Surgical Oncology, and the American Association for Cancer Research.
