Aria is proud to offer a high-quality, dedicated stroke program, committed to the highest level of care for our stroke patients.
Stroke demands among the promptest of care of any medical condition. Many of Aria's major clinical areas are built with a significant focus on stroke prevention and care. Aria services in cardiology, neurology, neurosurgery, vascular surgery, primary and internal medicine, emergency medicine, and rehabilitation have a depth of experience and the most up-to-date capabilities in dealing with stroke.
And Aria experts in these areas work together in a multi-specialty, cross-disciplinary team to give stroke patients the most comprehensive care. Risk evaluation and preventive medicine come first in addressing the problem of stroke in the population. If a stroke occurs, the staff throughout the Aria system knows that every minute counts and moves its patient into highly prepared emergency medicine care and then the most capable specialty follow-up possible.
The Aria stroke team strives to:
- minimize the temporary and long-term effects of stroke;
- take all medical steps needed to prevent additional strokes;
- deliver immediate follow-up care to return function and to assist patients in dealing with any compromised function.
Aria clinicians take stroke, mild or significant, very seriously, and use expedient evaluation and intervention to minimize the impact of a "brain attack." Getting to its cause and fixing the problem is the best way to avoid debilitation.
One of the best ways for victims to receive quick, effective treatment is greater awareness of the warning signs of stroke. At Aria Health, we encourage people to learn the FAST method of stroke awareness.
