About the Aria Health School of Nursing Library

Aria Health School of Nursing (SON) Library is located on the first floor of Aria Health School of Nursing. This facility provides access to a wide variety of research materials to support the curricular and research needs of the SON students, alumni, and faculty. It is affiliated with the medical libraries of the Aria Health System and students are accorded the privilege of using these libraries at the Torresdale and Bucks campuses. The library also supports the educational programs of the Pennsylvania State University General Studies Program to assist students with obtaining their bachelor degree. The Aria Health SON students are also eligible to access Penn State Library Services. The library abides by the Pennsylvania Interlibrary Loan Code and adheres to the Copyright Code laws and Delaware Valley Information Consortium (DEVIC) Memorandum of Agreement.

Library hours are subject to change for breaks, finals, holidays, and inclement weather.

Borrowing Policies

All faculty and students may borrow up to 3 items with a current Aria Health School of Nursing ID card. All materials, with the exception of journals and the reference books, can be checked out. Reserve and reference materials may be used in the library only. The loan period for books is two weeks (14 days) with one renewal, while the loan period for audio-visual materials is two days with one renewal; limit two items at a time. Fines for overdue library books will accrue on a per-day-basis. The library asks that all patrons make every attempt to return library materials in a timely manner, as it deprives others of their use.

Cell phones must be kept on silent and phone calls must be conducted outside of the library.
Food and drink:
No food & drinks are allowed in the library.

Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary loan is a service that allows patrons to obtain materials from other medical libraries. If students need articles that are not available in the School of Nursing library collection, they can be requested from lending libraries. These Interlibrary Loan requests may take 1-2 weeks.

Library Collections

The library houses around 2,000 books on core titles in nursing, nursing education and allied health. The library also keeps a wide selection of nursing journal titles in both print and electronic formats. Full text articles and citation databases and electronic journals are also available.
