The combined Emergency Medicine/Internal Medicine residency training prepares residents for board certification in both fields.  The academic year consists of equally distribution of rotations in each field. The weekly academic conference of both programs is integrated into all rotational blocks.  Participation in the weekly half-day ambulatory Internal Medicine Clinic occurs during the Internal Medicine rotational blocks each year.  The skills and knowledge gained by this unique dual certification program enhances the resident's abilities in both fields.  The broad base of internal medicine subspecialty knowledge acquired is complemented by the diverse medical, pediatric, and traumatic patient presentations that the resident will manage in the Emergency Department.

Aria Health's Combined Emergency Medicine/Internal Medicine Residency Training Program is committed to providing our residents with the best educational opportunities in an academic community hospital setting.  The unique patient care experiences found at each of the Aria Health facilities is combined with the access to the resources of the larger university hospitals in the area making our program special.

The EM/IM residency can also be the initial portion of the Aria Health 6-year Combined EM/IM/Critical Care Fellowship Program. We welcome you to find out more about our program by contacting the Program Director or Chief Residents and/or scheduling a visit to our program.
