Bucks County Health Improvement Partnership (BCHIP)


Since 1994, Aria Health has been a partner in the Bucks County Health Improvement Partnership (BCHIP), a not-for-profit organization providing healthcare services to the uninsured in Bucks County. BCHIP was developed from a collaboration of Bucks County's six acute care hospitals, the Bucks County Department of Health, and the Bucks County Medical Society. BCHIP is governed by the CEOs of the six hospitals, the Director of the Bucks County Health Department, a Board Member of the Medical Society, and five community members. Additionally, leaders from social service agencies, the local business community, and other areas are brought in to collaborate on a regular basis.

BCHIP's mission is to provide "a leadership role in Bucks County through a collaborative approach to address gaps in health services and to improve the health status of the community." BCHIP programs include:

  • Access to care to uninsured Bucks County residents
  • Access to dental care for low-income, uninsured children
  • Cardiovascular Risk Reduction Program 
  • Tobacco Control Program
  • Bucks County Wellness Partnership
  • Domestic Violence Taskforce

 Eligibility Requirements:

  • Be an adult age 18 or over
  • Be a Bucks County resident (proof of residency required)
  • Have no medical insurance
  • Not eligible for Medicare, Medical Assistance, or other health insurance
  • Meet income limits (must provide proof of annual income)
  • Have household income less than 200% of the Federal Poverty limit
