Background: Mother Katharine Drexel’s Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament were the original owners of the Stations of the Cross artwork. These artifacts, which were part of the original artwork displayed in Mother Katharine Drexel’s historic church that is now part of Frankford Hospital – Torresdale’s campus, were restored in 1996.

The Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament gave Frankford the opportunity to share the art with hospital employees, patients, families and visitors who had the opportunity to view them in the Cancer Center building.

The Stations of the Cross were created as studies for works in stained glass by Philadelphia stained glass craftsman, Nicola D’Ascenzo, in 1914.
