Caring for Minor Cuts
Most minor cuts and scrapes don't require medical assistance. It's safe to home-treat such injuries if:
The cut is less than a half-inch around.
There's only slight bleeding.
The person isn't in excessive pain and doesn't feel any numbness or tingling.
To treat a minor scrape or cut:
Wash the area with mild soap and water.
Apply an antibiotic to the area to prevent infection.
Cover the wound with a sterile gauze pad or adhesive bandage.
